Healing. Opportunity. Purpose. Empowerment.
There is always H.O.P.E.
Our mission is to provide high-quality, cost-effective behavioral health services in our community. We will work with you to meet your needs ethically, respectfully, compassionately and confidentially.
As residents of Cumberland/North Yarmouth, the founders of H.O.P.E. believe in the community and feel very strongly about focusing efforts locally. We will provide a variety of services in an effort to strengthen our community for all of the families who live here. This includes individual, group and family counseling, as well as outreach to the greater community and schools. We address a variety of concerns and reach across the spectrum of age, gender and need. Both adolescents and adults are welcome.
Our skills and education enable us to address many issues:
sex therapy for individuals and couples
acute and long-term family and personal crises
depression and anxiety
women's issues,
self-esteem
addiction and recovery
relationship problems (including marriage, family and friendship)
all adolescent concerns

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC). I have extensive experience with adolescents and adults with addiction and recovery issues, people affected by the substance use of a loved one ("affected others"), depression, anxiety and relationship issues. I have a strong interest in focusing on helping the C/NY communities address drug and alcohol issues in both the adolescent and adult population. In addition, I am committed to helping adolescents with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, relationship and social skills issues. I have worked with adolescents in a variety of settings, including residential treatment, day treatment, schools and outpatient clinics. Insurance plans currently accepted are Anthem, Aetna and UBH and a sliding scale may be used for those without insurance who qualify.
Jennifer Wiessner, LCSW
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a strong history working with adolescents and families. Since moving to Maine my focus and training has been sex therapy, couples therapy and women's issues. I believe that the added roles and responsibilities taken on by women today are giving rise to added stress, marital concerns, depression and anxiety causing struggles within relationships. My expertise also extends to helping women cope with medical complications such as infertility and managing illness. I am in active pursuit of my AASECT sex therapy certification in consultation with an AASECT Diplomate in Sex Therapy. Clients with sexuality concerns, sexual dysfunction and pain, gender identity issues, sexual interest questions, fetishes and general relationship issues are welcome. Kink and Poly aware therapist.
In the Fall of 2010 I will also be augmenting my practice by offering sexual health psychoeducation sessions for parents alone or with their adolescents who wish to have guidance with how to encourage positive and responsible sexual health behaviors and attitudes.
Insurance plans currently accepted are Anthem/Blue Cross, United Behavioral Health and AETNA. A sliding scale may be used for those without insurance who qualify. Limited day and evening appointments are available. *Sexual health psychoeducation sessions are not covered by insurance.
